Berks County votes on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, with polls open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The deadlines that matter: register to vote by October 19, request a mail ballot by 5 p.m. October 27, and return mail ballots by 8 p.m. on Election Day.
What’s on the ballot
- Governor of Pennsylvania: incumbent Josh Shapiro (D) vs. Stacy Garrity (R), the state treasurer, per Ballotpedia’s race tracking. Expect this race to dominate.
- Lieutenant governor, elected on a ticket with the governor.
- U.S. House: Berks is split among congressional districts, so your race depends on your address.
- Pennsylvania General Assembly: all state House seats and half the state Senate.
- No county offices this year. Commissioners and row officers run in odd years, next in 2027.
The county posts sample ballots by precinct before the election. This spring’s primary settled the nominees.
How to vote, step by step
- Check your registration at vote.pa.gov. Register or update by Monday, October 19, 2026 (Pennsylvania’s deadline is 15 days before Election Day).
- Decide how you’ll vote. In person on Election Day, or by mail.
- Voting by mail: apply at vote.pa.gov or through county Election Services by 5 p.m. Tuesday, October 27. Return the ballot so it is received by 8 p.m. November 3. A postmark does not count in Pennsylvania; use the county’s drop-off options or mail early.
- Voting in person: confirm your polling place first through the lookup linked on the county voter information page, since locations change. Polls run 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and anyone in line at 8 p.m. gets to vote.
